  5. FORD CANADA SALES UP 8%; BEST AUGUST IN 20 YEARS

    Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited saw sales increase 8 per cent in August, marking the best August on record in 20 years. With 24,034 units sold, Ford of Canada posted its highest August sales since 1990. Products across the entire lineup showed positive results including CUV sales which increased 21 per cent and truck sales which rose 5 per cent, helping to boost overall sales. Ford continues to be Canada's top-selling manufacturer in 2010 with sales up 17 per cent year-to-date.

    Ford Motor Company and the City of Seattle today announced a partnership to help prepare the city for the operation of electric vehicles. Ford and the City of Seattle will work together to develop consumer outreach and education programs on electric vehicles as well as share information on charging needs and requirements to ensure the electrical grid can support the necessary demand.
