Strong car sales helped Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited kick off the New Year with a 5 per cent sales increase compared to the same period last year. Overall car sales increased 8 per cent, while F-Series sales remained strong with a 22 per cent increase and CUV sales also rose 22 per cent.

Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited finished the year as best-selling manufacturer in the industry for the second consecutive year. The F-Series remains the top-selling pickup truck in Canada as it hits 46 continuous years. It is also the top-selling vehicle in Canada for a second year in-a-row. The popularity of F-150 was powered by the new V6 EcoBoost engine, selling more than 24,000 units (34%) since the product launched last year.

With overall year-to-date sales up 3 per cent, Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited continues to lead the market in Canada. Ford Focus continues to improve with a 4 per cent increase compared to last year. Strong demand for the Ford Explorer helped sales jump 109 per cent. Continuing the momentum, F-150 sales were up 7 per cent.

With overall sales up 4 per cent year-to-date, Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited continues to lead the market in Canada. Demand for the fuel-efficient Ford Focus, up 12 per cent compared to last October, led to its best sales in more than four years. Strong demand for the Ford Explorer helped sales jump 368 per cent compared to the same period last year.

Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited today announced the appointment of Dianne Craig as president and CEO, effective Nov. 1, as the company readies to mark its second straight year as the auto sales leader in Canada. Craig replaces David Mondragon, who has served as president and CEO since August 2008.

Sales at Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited marked the second-best September since 1978. Strong car sales, including Ford Fiesta, Focus, Lincoln MKZ, and MKS helped to keep Ford in the top spot for the month and year-to-date.

Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited saw sales increase 8 per cent compared to the same period last year, marking the best August since 1988. Solid performances from Ford Fiesta, Focus, Fusion and Lincoln MKZ helped overall car sales grow 18 per cent. With 193,648 units sold, Ford of Canada continues to be the top-selling automaker for the month and year-to-date.
