FORD OPENS FORD JAKARTA PUSAT – KELAPA GADING BRANCH
Jakarta, 28 February 2003 – As part of its ongoing strategy to extend its services to customers, PT Ford Motor Indonesia (FMI) today opened a new branch in Kelapa Gading area under the management of the Ford Jakarta Pusat dealer.
The opening of the Kelapa Gading Branch is intended to serve Ford customers and enthusiasts in the North Jakarta area. The branch will function as a point for Ford vehicles sales, complementing the four existing Ford Superstores.
Commenting on the opening, President Director of PT. Ford Motor Indonesia, Will Angove, said, “This new branch is further proof of Ford’s strong commitment to strengthening our network of dealerships and to ensuring a strong point of sales network and customer service for Ford products around Indonesia.”
Similar to the other dealerships, this new branch is set to place Ford at the forefront of modern automotive retailing in Indonesia as it has been built to conform with Ford’s Brand@Retail global standards. At the Ford Jakarta Pusat – Kelapa Gading Branch, customers can browse and obtain information on the current models available as well as to test drive any of the models. It is believed that Indonesia is the first country in the world to meet the Ford Brand@Retail standards throughout all its dealerships and branches where all Ford dealerships and branches share a consistent showroom layout, use of color and signage.
In addition, Ford dealers are able to offer a flexible, competitive range of finance options that will suit any customer. The service is offered through Ford Credit, a company that specializes in automotive financing. Ford Credit, the world’s largest automotive financer, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Ford Motor Company.
The Ford operation in Indonesia is backed by Ford’s strong presence in the ASEAN region. Ford ASEAN Operations covers the company's vehicle manufacturing and distribution in five markets within the South East Asian region, including Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines and now Indonesia.
