FORD OF CANADA TEAMS UP WITH CANADA DRY TO CELEBRATE 100 YEARS IN 100 DAYS
OAKVILLE, Ont., May 26, 2004 - Ford of Canada and Canada Dry have joined forces to present the "Canada Dry Refreshing Escape 100 Day Contest," which runs until July 4, 2004. Contestants have the opportunity to select three locations across Canada and if three matching Escape prize icons appear, they are the winner of a 2005 Escape XLT. The program features an on-line Match and Win game at www.canadadry.ca.
"When a major Canadian company like Ford reaches 100 years in business, what better way to celebrate than by joining with another Canadian company who has reached the century mark and work together on a contest that will be exciting for Canadians of all ages," says Reg Modjeski, Sponsorships & CRM Manager at Ford of Canada, Ltd.
"When we review a promotional partnership at Ford of Canada, how the partner, their product and the timing meshes with what we have scheduled in our Marketing plans is a prime considerations for us," Modjeski said."With the launch of the 2005 Escape, the timing on this program couldn't have been more ideal."
The Canada Dry Refreshing Escape 100 Day Contest runs in Ontario, Western Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador -- areas defined as Coca-Cola franchised territories for Canada Dry.
The contest will appear in over 4,000 retailers in Canada, with Ford Escape displays at more than 100 Mega Stores, with 5,000+ customers per day. In addition, five Canada Dry Crews driving specially decaled 2005 Ford Escapes are traveling to various Canada Dry retailers, Ford dealerships and community events to celebrate their Centennial and promote the contest by creating 'mini parties' at each local venue.
'This is a great cross-promotion with another Canadian company that has been around for 100 years. It gives the Ford Escape exposure at numerous high-traffic outlets daily. Our Ford dealers are excited to work with their local retailers to create unique in-store displays and experiences for their customers - all in the spirit of celebrating a Centennial milestone for both companies," Modjeski added.
