Randy Ortiz
Title: General Manager, Ford and Lincoln Mercury Sales
Randy L. Ortiz is general manager, Ford and Lincoln Mercury Sales, a position to which he was appointed in January 2007. In this capacity, he is responsible for all U.S. sales for the Ford and Lincoln Mercury brands.
During most of 2006, Ortiz was general sales manager, Ford Customer Service Division (FCSD). In this assignment, he was in charge of FCSD’s U.S. market offices and was responsible for implementing sales, customer satisfaction and marketing strategies to grow Ford's share of the retail service market.
Prior to that, Ortiz was executive director and general manager, Ford Worldwide Direct Market Operations (WDMO) where he was responsible for the product development, marketing, sales and service in 117 markets around the globe. He was appointed to that position in June 2002, and under his leadership, the WDMO team posted three consecutive sales and profit records for 2003, 2004 and 2005.
Before joining WDMO, Ortiz directed much of Ford's dealer e-business activity. He was instrumental in developing FordDirect, a highly successful online shopping joint venture with Ford dealers across the U.S. In addition, his group managed Ford's global portal (www.ford.com) and the Ford satellite network (FordStar).
Ortiz joined Ford in 1982 and has more than 20 years of experience in a variety of sales and marketing positions. Ortiz holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo State and has completed the Duke University Executive Marketing program.
