September
is one of those turning-point months. It’s the beginning of
the fall season and of the school year for many youngsters.
September also launches the 2007 automotive model year and the
fall TV season. The coming together of those latter two events
is foremost on the mind of Myles Romero, Global Brand
Entertainment director, Ford Motor Company.

When a
safety engineer crash tests a car, it’s fast, it's loud – and
it's expensive. In the fall of 2005, Ford commissioned the
Servo-Hydraulic Crash Simulator, a state-of-the-art piece of
equipment that’s reducing the time and cost to research,
design and build a new car or truck. Located inside Ford’s
Safety Innovation Lab (SIL) in Dearborn, the Servo Sled is the
most capable crash simulator of its type in the
world.
