Former President Clinton receives details about the fuel-efficient hybrid powertrain of his new Mercury Mariner Hybrid ‘Presidential Edition’ from Sue Cischke, Ford vice president of Environmental and Safety Engineering, Charlie Holleran, Ford vice president and chief communications officer, and Wayne Bahr, engineering manager of the presidential hybrid project. Former President Bill Clinton takes delivery of a Mercury Mariner Hybrid “Presidential Edition” – the first hybrid vehicle to be outfitted for presidential service. The Presidential Mariner Hybrid will be formally accepted by President Clinton at the Clinton Global Initiative conference set for Sept. 20-22 in New York City.

Ford’s “Save the Mustangs” program earns national award by U.S. Department of the Interior.

 

September is one of those turning-point months. It’s the beginning of the fall season and of the school year for many youngsters. September also launches the 2007 automotive model year and the fall TV season. The coming together of those latter two events is foremost on the mind of Myles Romero, Global Brand Entertainment director, Ford Motor Company.

 
 

When a safety engineer crash tests a car, it’s fast, it's loud – and it's expensive. In the fall of 2005, Ford commissioned the Servo-Hydraulic Crash Simulator, a state-of-the-art piece of equipment that’s reducing the time and cost to research, design and build a new car or truck. Located inside Ford’s Safety Innovation Lab (SIL) in Dearborn, the Servo Sled is the most capable crash simulator of its type in the world.
