It comes with the first-in-segment 5-speed automatic transmission, the very same system used in Ford Explorer, which perfectly complements its new powerful “Duratorq” new generation common-rail engine giving the vehicle superior fuel economy and a smoother acceleration rate . More fuel economy and enjoyment with the “five-speed automatic transmission” and the powerful “Duratorq” engine
The new five-speed automatic transmission system produces better and more continuous acceleration. It features an innovative Transmission Control Module(TCM) that can automatically detect and quickly adjust to the changing engine speed and driving condition. It keeps the transmission system always at its peak power band, thus making the vehicle more responsive. Such acceleration rate continuity makes it perfect for both urban and highway driving as well as off road while providing the best possible fuel economy.
Built according to Ford’s legendary high durability and toughness standards, the new five-speed automatic transmission system is made with a one-piece die cast aluminum case. It is designed to effectively handle the Duratorq common-rail's best in-class 380Nm torque. Transmission noise and vibration are also minimized, providing the driver and passenger with an extraordinary smooth and quiet ride.
The new system compliments the powerful Duratorq new generation common-rail engine which boasts best-in-class torque with improved fuel economy. The 3.0-liter TDCi engine produces maximum torque of 380 NM at 1,800 rpm and 115 Kw (156 Hp) power at 3,200 rpm. The 2.5-liter model produces an impressive maximum torque of 330 Nm at 1,800 rpm, and 105 Kw (143 Hp) power at 3,500 rpm. While producing best-in-class torque and power, the 2.5L models enjoy 22% better fuel economy.
The latest generation commonrail fuel injection system, aided by the 32-bit ECU, provides more precise control on injection pressures and spray volume. Drivers can thus experience greater engine responsiveness, control, smoother acceleration and high power when needed and across the entire rpm range.
The Variable Geometry Turbocharger is also redesigned to achieve improved durability and resistance to friction, resulting in control and positive response, spirited acceleration, and more safety in taking over other vehicle. The New Ford Everest, therefore, provides best-in-class, smooth and predictable acceleration.
The New Ford Everest is available in both two-wheel-drive and four-wheel drive systems. In 4WD transmission system, it is equipped with the world renowned Borg Warner transfer system and electronic Active Shift-on-the-Fly, allowing a driver to shift the driving mode from 2WD to 4WD at high driving speeds of up to 100 kph.
The newly designed engine also reduces waste, exhaust gases and engine heat, resulting in lower emission, better fuel economy, reduced engine noise and vibration. This also reduces engine oil contamination, thus lengthening oil change period to 10,000 km, meaning lower cost of ownership.

Continuing its leadership and innovation in safety, Ford has introduced two side-airbags in the New Ford Everest in addition to the advanced dual stage driver and passenger airbags.
Three point seat belts with Load Limiter Retractor (LLR) provide improved protection for passengers during a collision.
Braking performance in the new Ford Everest is outstanding, incorporating ABS with Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) and a load sensing proportioning valve to ensure optimum stopping capabilities on all surfaces, shorter braking distance and precise braking.
The New Ford Everest also employs an upgraded Ford chassis which is designed as a tough and capable platform for the SUV. The crumple zone in the chassis is highly durable and offers greater ride comfort. It distributes the crash force throughout the vehicle so that passengers inside the vehicle are intact. New rear stabilizers, a larger steering gear with a Ball & Nut type steering system provides excellent steering performance, impressive road holding and better driver control. Its large diameter suspension also increases rigidity and vehicle capability.
For more security, Ford has introduced the Passive Anti-theft System (PATS) in the New Ford Everest. PATS is a theft protection feature, preventing the engine from being started with an incorrectly coded key which minimize the event of theft.
The tough SUV with sedan-like comfort
With its classic, rugged, commanding design, the New Ford Everest is a real SUV that can go anywhere. It continues the Ford SUV heritage with a prominent front grille and power dome on the bonnet to emphasize its muscular look. Also, it also features the power foldable door mirror with indicator light and puddle lamp.

Based on ergonomic design, the passenger cabin is more spacious with ample head, shoulder and leg room. The beautifully crafted seats with the new sculpted seatback, wider shoulders, aggressive bolster and large headrest help reduce travelers’ fatigue. The 2 nd row synchroseat system makes it more convenient for passenger to fold with one hand to enter into or getting out of the third row seat. The third row seat is also improved for more comfort and can be completely removed to increase space for bigger luggage or sports gear. The New Ford Everest is the only model in the market whose third row seat can be completely removed.
The two-tone color scheme with bright silver chrome details in the instrument cluster, ventilator grilles, shifter, window switches and inner door handle add a strong sense of luxury and emphasize quality materials.
The control panel is ergonomically designed to optimize driver’s control and easy operation. More storage space has been added to keep the cabin interior tidy and includes the industry’s first unique pull-out tray at the front instrument panel and the 2 bin center console capable of storing up to 10 CDs.
