FORD MOTOR COMPANY APPOINTS BRUCE ANDREWS VICE PRESIDENT OF GOVERNMENT RELATIONS
WASHINGTON, DC, February 14, 2007 – Ford Motor Company today announced the appointment of Bruce Andrews as vice president of government relations based in Washington.
Andrews comes to Ford from Quinn Gillespie & Associates, one of the leading lobbying firms in Washington. In his practice, he worked on a variety of legislative and regulatory matters for clients focused primarily on technology policy, telecommunications, judiciary, commerce and financial services issues.
"Bruce has an extensive background as a policy strategist with great political savvy and a keen understanding of Congress," said Ziad Ojakli, Ford group vice president, government and community relations. "He will lead our federal and state legislative efforts during one the company's more challenging times. His new role is critical to our success."
Andrews has also been very politically active. He has worked closely with a cross section of the House Democratic Caucus including the New Democrat Coalition and the Blue Dog Coalition on various initiatives. With previous campaign management experience, he has also worked on and served as an advisor to a number of gubernatorial, congressional and Senate campaigns.
Prior to joining Quinn Gillespie when the firm opened in January 2000, Andrews served as an attorney in the Public Policy and Telecommunications Groups at Arnold & Porter working on a variety of legislative and public policy matters. He spent seven years on Capitol Hill, including three years as Legislative Director for U.S. Representative Tim Holden (D-PA).
Andrews, a Syracuse, New York native, is a graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center and Haverford College. He and his family live in Washington, D.C.
