Ford taps key partners to deliver aggressive electric vehicle plan
Ford Motor Company has launched an aggressive plan to bring pure battery-electric vehicles, next-generation hybrids and a plug-in hybrid to market quickly and more affordably during the next four years. The plan, unveiled at the 2009 North American International Auto Show, signals the next phase in Ford’s commitment to deliver the best or among the best fuel efficiency with every new vehicle it introduces and to make fuel efficiency solutions affordable for millions of customers. To start, Ford will introduce in North America during the next four years:

  • A new battery electric commercial van in 2010
  • A new battery electric small car in 2011 developed jointly with Magna International
  • Next-generation hybrid vehicles, including a plug-in version by 2012
These new vehicles pave the way for additional applications in the future, using Ford’s high-volume global small car and midsize car platforms.  more...

Upscale new Ford Taurus is tech savvy
The Ford Taurus – the car that changed America’s view of full-size sedans – is all-new for 2010, with an upscale new design, impeccable driving dynamics, class-leading technologies and an unbeatable price tag. “This new sedan completely redefines expectations of what Taurus stands for – and what Ford is capable of delivering – quality, fuel-efficient vehicles featuring the latest technologies and head-turning design,” said Mark Fields, president The Americas. New Lincoln MKT turns heads
Lincoln is offering full-size luxury crossover customers a fresh new choice with the 2010 Lincoln MKT, a three-row tourer that delivers the optimal blend of fuel economy, performance, technology and spaciousness. “We’re growing Lincoln’s product portfolio with a full-size crossover that offers more of everything luxury buyers want today – including more variety,” said Mark Fields, Ford’s president of The Americas. “Lincoln MKT will help us further build momentum for Lincoln, which has been outpacing its luxury competitors and growing market share in recent months.” The all-new 2010 Lincoln MKT is larger than the two-row Lincoln MKX mid-size premium crossover and joins the sumptuous and sporty Lincoln MKS luxury sedan launched in 2008 and the new Lincoln MKZ sedan that hits the market in spring.  more...

Lincoln C concept delivers big luxury in a small, efficient package
Lincoln is breaking new ground with the Lincoln C concept, a new big idea for a small luxury car. Designed with today’s upscale, urban consumer in mind, the Lincoln C concept brings the presence and elegance of a large Lincoln to a smaller, more efficient C-sized car. Ford Fusion Hybrid is most fuel efficient mid-size car in America
The all-new Ford Fusion Hybrid is now officially America’s most fuel efficient mid-size car with a certified 41 mpg rating in the city and 36 mpg on the highway, topping the Toyota Camry hybrid by 8 mpg in the city and 2 mpg on the highway. “The new Ford Fusion Hybrid not only significantly exceeds the competition but also embodies Ford’s 100 percent commitment to fuel efficiency leadership, quality, innovation and advanced technology,” said Derrick Kuzak, group vice president, Global Product Development. “The Ford team set the bar high – to develop America’s most fuel efficient mid-size sedan – and that’s what they delivered.”  more...
