| Different automotive strokes, for different regional folks |
It turns out that where you live says a great deal about your automotive preferences. Ford Motor Company’s continuing efforts to align dealer inventories with the configurations and colors that customers want means poring over sales data. Some of the findings are logical – such as the popularity of all-wheel drive and four-wheel drive in Snowbelt states – while other regional preferences aren’t so easy to explain. Cincinnati and Minneapolis buyers, for example, favor red vehicles. In the long run, anticipating and delivering the combinations in demand is a win for customers and dealers alike. more... |

| Ford and Auburn University take safety to the stars |

Moving into a prototype phase, the research shows that GPS satellites can precisely monitor a vehicle’s motion, which could improve the speed and effectiveness of electronic stability control systems. more... |
