Burt Jordan

Title: Executive Director, Global Vehicle and Powertrain Purchasing, Ford Motor Company

Burt R. Jordan is Executive Director, Global Vehicle and Powertrain Purchasing, a position to which he was appointed July 1, 2010. In this role, Jordan oversees procurement of $60 billion annually of production and powertrain parts and commodities for Ford Motor Company's operations worldwide. He is responsible for ensuring that the organization meets all of its quality, cost and delivery targets. Jordan also oversees Supplier Diversity Development and Global Supply Risk Management.
 
Prior to his current role, he was Executive Director, Global Powertrain Purchasing from April 1, 2008. Before taking on global responsibility for powertrain purchasing, Jordan served as Director of Powertrain and Driveline Purchasing for the Americas from January 1, 2006.
 
Jordan previously spent several years at Ford and Mazda purchasing jobs in Asia. On Oct. 1, 2004, he was named Director, Purchasing for Ford Asia Pacific and Africa, where he managed the overall purchasing activities for operations in Australia, India, South Africa, the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. Jordan joined Mazda Motor Corp., a Ford affiliate, in September 2001, and was named Deputy General Manager of the Purchasing Division in April 2002.
 
Jordan earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Alma College in Alma, Mich. He was also appointed to the United States Air Force Academy.
 
African Americans On Wheels Magazine recently honored Jordan as one of the “70 Most Influential African American Men in the Automotive Industry.” In 2011, Jordan was recognized in the book, “Driven, A Tribute to African-American Achievement in the Automotive Industry.” Jordan currently serves on the board of directors for Dearborn Capital Corp.
