The Susan G. While at first glance it may seem like a contradiction in terms, Ford researchers are quantifying the sensual feeling of touch. The latest result is a floor shifter slated to debut on Ford’s new Edge crossover vehicle, debuting later this fall.

Safetybelts can be a matter of life or death. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported in 2003 that safetybelts were credited with preventing 11,900 fatalities and 325,000 serious injuries annually, making the safetybelt one of the most important safety devices ever created.
