Alan E. Draper is appointed vice president, Purchasing, Ford of Europe, effective July 1, 2010. He is responsible for overseeing purchasing for the Ford brand throughout Europe.
He was previously director, Purchasing, and Team Value Management (TVM), Ford of Europe, a position he held from April 2008. Prior to that, Mr. Draper was director, TVM between December 2005 and March 2008, and was director for Programme Purchasing in Ford of Europe between 2000 and the end of 2005.
Mr. Draper joined Ford of Britain in 1979, and first worked at Ford's Southampton Plant where he was a systems analyst in the material planning and logistics function. He has held a number of supervisory and managerial positions within Ford's European Purchasing organization, including launch responsibility for Mondeo, Focus, Transit and Fiesta models.
Alan is married with two children. He counts golf, running, watching cricket and Rugby football as his hobbies.
He was born in Kidderminster, UK, in 1958.
