Ford wins four categories marking its best results in 15 years
Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont., October 25, 2012 – Ford of Canada led the competition at the 2013 Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) Car of the Year TestFest, claiming the top spot in four categories:
The zero-CO2-emissions, gasoline-free Focus Electric provides outstanding energy efficiency, reliable operation, and real driving enjoyment. It’s the first five-passenger, all–electric car to achieve a 1.7 Le/100 km rating. Focus Electric was the first vehicle to win this new innovative category.
Fusion Hybrid has raised the bar in the segment by offering leading fuel-efficiency, helpful technologies and game-changing looks. The vehicle is also equipped with a lithium-ion battery which allows it to hit a top speed of 100 kilometres an hour under electric only power.
The all-new Ford Escape brings clever technologies and features designed to make life easier, as well as best-in-class fuel economy with Ford’s 1.6-litre engine – available for the first time in North America.
The Ford Focus ST brings the Sport Technologies badge to customers worldwide, offering a blend of refinement and performance for which ST is renowned. The Focus ST is Ford’s first truly global performance car.
