Ford Sells 79,608 Vehicles in China in August

  • Ford sold 79,608 vehicles in China in August;
  • Changan Ford Automobile sold 59,651 vehicles in August;
  • Jiangling Motors Corporation sold 17,731 vehicles in August;

Ford sold 79,608 vehicles in China during August, a three percent decrease compared to 2014. Year-to-date sales surpassed 700,000 in August, down one percent compared to the same time last year.

Changan Ford Automobile (CAF), Ford’s passenger car joint venture, sold 59,651 vehicles in August, a one percent decrease compared to 2014. CAF sold 512,377 vehicles from January to August, steady compared to the same time last year.

Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC), Ford’s commercial vehicle investment, sold 17,731 vehicles in August, a nine percent decrease compared to 2014. JMC sold 168,494 vehicles from January to August, steady compared to the same time last year.

Last month, Ford and JMC celebrated the 20th anniversary of their partnership and saw the first new Ford Everest roll off the assembly line at the JMC Xiaolan Plant in Nanchang China. With the production of the new Ford Everest, Ford and JMC have expanded their relationship by entering into the SUV segment. With a pre-sale price ranging from RMB 269,800 to RMB 369,800, the new Ford Everest is now available for pre-order through JMC’s Ford-brand network of dealers.
