Ford China Names Song Yang as President of National Distribution Services Division

SHANGHAI, China, April 8, 2019 – Ford China today announced that Song Yang joins the Ford China leadership team as president, National Distribution Services Division (NDSD), effective immediately.

Song Yang, 45, will lead the NDSD team to drive sales, build brand image and enhance the customer experience, as well as improve the execution of new vehicle product launches and dealer profitability.

“We are thrilled to have Song lead our talented NDSD team in this critical area of our business and take it to the next level,” said Anning Chen, president and CEO of Ford China. “Song brings significant experience in business operations, marketing, sales and service that will be invaluable for us to combine the ‘Best of Ford’ and ‘Best of China’ as we work toward our goal of becoming the world’s most trusted company in the largest automotive market.”

Joseph Liu, current acting president of the NDSD, will remain a member of the Ford China leadership team. His new position will be the subject of a future announcement.

“We thank Joseph for his leadership and dedication to the NDSD during this time of transition,” said Chen. “In a short period of time, he reset the team, collaborated closely with our dealers and successfully launched the all-new Ford Territory. Under Joseph’s leadership, we laid the foundation for a retail-oriented sales strategy focused on reducing aged inventory, stabilizing transaction prices and improving dealer profitability.”

Yang brings nearly 25 years of experience in marketing and sales in China and the U.S. He has held a variety of leadership roles in the automotive industry and was most recently CEO of Borgward Group AG. Prior to that, Yang held several key leadership positions in marketing and sales at Dongfeng Nissan and Nissan U.S. from 2005 to 2015.
