Chuck Gray

Chuck Gray became vice president, Vehicle Hardware Engineering, in September 2022. He reports to Kumar Galhotra, chief operating officer. He leads Ford’s global Product Development and Design, Interior and Exterior Systems, Structures and Components. He also is responsible for ICE Powertrain, Thermal and Systems Engineering and Vehicle Evaluation & Verification. His team also is leading the digital transformation of Product Development, including adopting Lean PD operating principles.

Gray is a 30+-year veteran of Ford whose past roles have involved all aspects of vehicle design and development – including Embedded Software and Electronics, which he led from 2016-2022.  He is a key driver of the Ford+ transformation plan, recognized as a leader who is playing an important role in the company’s transformation and helping to modernize the company.

He is a Kettering University & University of Michigan graduate and serves on the Kettering University Board of Trustees as well as the Department of Commerce Industry Advisory Council for the CHIPs Act.
