  • Ford announces Thai market pricing starting at THB1,269,000 for the highly-capable Everest SUV, begins taking customer bookings
  • New Ranger is unveiled to the world as Ford continues its product-led transformation and growth strategy

The continuation of Ford’s product-led transformation in ASEAN is on display at the 36th Bangkok International Motor Show with the global premiere of the new Ranger pickup and ASEAN introduction of the new Everest SUV.

The reveal of two new, global vehicles at the Bangkok International Motor Show underscores Ford’s commitment to continue introducing world-class vehicles to serve customers in Thailand, across ASEAN and around the world.

“We’re very proud of our pickup truck and SUV heritage at Ford. Our global leadership and expertise in these segments is clearly reflected in the new Ranger and Everest, which will further strengthen our showroom lineup and continue driving the success of our product-led transformation in the region,” said Matt Bradley, president, Ford ASEAN.

Ford will continue to build both nameplates at its AutoAlliance Thailand manufacturing facility, for sale in the domestic market and export across the region.

The new Ranger will set a new industry benchmark in the pickup truck segment with updated design, impressive power and capability, and a host of advanced new features that allow owners to achieve even more.

The Ranger will be launched in all respective ASEAN markets later this year.

New Everest
The new Everest goes beyond what consumers expect from an SUV, blending rugged off-road capability with exceptional ride quality and dynamic handling.

Led by Ford’s Asia Pacific design and product development teams, the new Everest makes use of Ford’s global SUV expertise and builds on the current Everest’s durability and versatility.

Designed from the ground up for impressive capability, the Everest is filled with advanced technologies for outstanding levels of safety, connectivity and convenience.

“Each new global Ford vehicle has helped to redefine its respective segment and attract even more new-to-Ford customers. We’re confident that the new Everest will do the same, as the smartest, most capable SUV in its class,” said Yukontorn ‘Vickie’ Wisadkosin, managing director, Ford Thailand.

The seven-seat Everest brings several first-in-segment features to Thailand, including Terrain Management System, panoramic sunroof, third-row PowerFold seats and Power Tailgate, Active Park Assist and Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross Traffic Alert, which informs drivers when there is a vehicle in their blind spot while driving or when preparing to reverse out of parking spots.

Everest also features the latest generation of Ford’s in-car connectivity solution, SYNC 2, which boasts an eight-inch touchscreen with color-coded corners for easy menu navigation.

The new Everest is available in two diesel engine options, a 3.2-litre Duratorq five-cylinder TDCi and the latest generation of the 2.2-litre Duratorq four-cylinder TDCi, mated to a durable and efficient six-speed automatic transmission.

Customer bookings can now be made for the new Everest at Ford dealers nationwide, with pricing starting at THB 1,269,000 for the 2.2L Titanium 4x2. The 3.2L Titanium 4x4 is available for THB 1,459,000 and the 3.2L Titanium+ 4x4 for THB 1,599,000. Customer deliveries will begin in the third quarter.

The new Everest is available in a collection of bold colors that includes Cool White, Black Mica Metallic, Aluminum Metallic, Sparkling Gold Metallic and Sunset Metallic.

Interactive Displays
In addition to its full lineup of vehicles, the Ford stand will be highly interactive with a number of exhibits that engage and educate visitors about Ford’s ‘quality, green, safe and smart’ leadership.

Ford’s Experience Wall System allows visitors to customize their own Ford vehicle in 3D – by selecting the nameplate, body style and color they are interested in, as well as see the full list of accessories and pricing for their selected model.

Ford’s recently launched 24-hour Roadside Assistance Application will be demonstrated, showcasing how customers can access this 24-hour emergency service during the time of inconvenience, and why it gives customers extra peace of mind on the road wherever they might be in Thailand.

Special stand-alone displays of Ford engines, including the 3.2L TDCi and 2.2L TDCi diesel engines, as well as Ford’s internationally-acclaimed 1.0L EcoBoost engine, will allow visitors to view up-close the detail and composition of these high-performance engines.

Visitors can also learn more about Ford’s customer and ownership experience efforts, including Ford’s nationwide footprint of dealer locations and comprehensive aftersales service programs that include Roadside Assistance, Scheduled Service Plan, Ford Ensure, 24-hour Parts Delivery Guarantee, Premium Protection Plus and Mobile Service.

“We are continuing to focus on further enhancing our customer and ownership experience to ensure it matches the world-class quality of our global Ford vehicles,” said Yukontorn.
