Ford European Sales Hit 21-Year Record

Ford recorded its best August total vehicle sales in 21 years as demand grew in its 20 key European markets. Ford sold 87,500 vehicles, up 5.1% compared with August 2018, as overall industry sales shrank more than 6% in August year over year. As a result, Ford’s market share is up 0.8 percentage points to 7.2% in its 20 key European markets.

Ford grew its total vehicle market share in 14 of its top 20 markets in August compared with a year ago. Sales rose 22.1% last month in Germany compared with August 2018, and 5.8% in Britain.
