Ford today announced significant strides toward an all-electric future in Europe, which will see the company transformed and offering a new generation of seven, all-electric, fully-connected passenger vehicles and vans by 2024.

Ford, SK On Co., Ltd. and Koç Holding have signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding for a new, industry-leading joint venture business in Turkey– subject to progression to a firm commitment from the three partners – that would lead to the creation of one of the largest commercial vehicle electric battery facilities in the European wider region.

Ford today announced that European customers will be able to purchase an all-electric version of the Ford Puma, Ford’s sports utility-inspired compact crossover, in 2024.

Building on its commitment to go all-in on electrification in Europe, Ford announced today that it intends to invest up to £230 million at its Halewood vehicle transmission facility to transform it to build electric power units for future Ford all-electric passenger and commercial vehicles sold in Europe.

Initial construction work is now underway to transform Ford’s Niehl assembly plant in Cologne, Germany, into the new Cologne Electrification Center.

Ford confirmed today that it will invest $300 million to build a new light commercial vehicle in 2023 at its Craiova Assembly Plant in Romania, including an all-electric version due to debut in 2024 – the first all-electric Ford volume vehicle to be built in Romania.
