Ford Fiesta ST rallycross car goes head-to-head with Swedish snowmen in Ford Racing video

  • OlsbergsMSE tests its rallycross-specification Fiesta ST in snow-covered Sweden
  • Cameras roll on pre-season test to capture spectacular footage and amazing car control

COLOGNE, Germany, March 18, 2014 – Ford’s Fiesta ST rallycross car was put through its paces in snowy Sweden in preparation for the upcoming rallycross season – and Ford Racing had cameras rolling to capture the spectacular winter test.

Ford OlsbergsMSE (OMSE) drivers tested the 600PS, four-wheel drive rallycross-spec Fiesta ST in Kall as work continues for the start of the FIA World Rallycross Championship and Red Bull Global Rallycross Championship.

Andreas Bakkerud, who will compete in the world series, and Patrik Sandell, who will drive in the US-based GRC, handled the Fiesta ST on snow and ice.

While their main priority was testing, they still managed to make time for a little fun, and went head-to-head with not one, but two, snowmen. You can watch what happened here.

OMSE team owner Andreas Eriksson led the test, placing an emphasis on developing his talented drivers. “Everything is about what you have on the track. Developing the car is one thing, but the most important thing is developing the driver,” he said.

Eriksson’s philosophy and Ford Racing’s technical alliance have proved to be a successful combination, resulting in three consecutive GRC championship titles in the last three seasons.

The Olsbergs MSE team will kick off their FIA World Rallycross season in Portugal on 3 - 4 May and the Red Bull Global Rallycross season on 18 May in Barbados.
