COLOGNE, Germany, March 4, 2015 – Ford Motor Company at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show today extended its line-up of vehicles to reveal new sporty, dynamic and high specification vehicles for Europe.

The all-new sporty Ford Edge S makes its European motor show debut and Ford is showing the all-new S-MAX S, and all-new Mondeo Titanium X for the first time. Also revealed are the EcoSport S, and new two-tone Focus Red and Black Editions, alongside the high-specification Kuga Titanium S.

These models line up alongside the all-new Focus RS, which yesterday made its worldwide motor show debut, and the all-new Ford GT supercar, which Ford premiered in Europe. The Focus RS and the Ford GT are developed by the new Ford Performance team, which is committed to delivering 12 new performance vehicles through 2020.

“Ford at Geneva is presenting a mouth-watering line-up of vehicles that underlines our commitment to innovation through performance,” said Jim Farley, Ford Motor Company executive vice president and president Europe, Middle East and Africa. “It is through developing our performance cars that technologies become available through the wider range of Ford cars.”

“We are also investing heavily in areas that will drive the Ford brand forwards in Europe including SUVs, and Vignale, as well as sport models,” Farley added. “Ford will have the broadest possible line-up to provide solutions for every customer from mass to niche.”

Further vehicles on display in Geneva include the new Focus ST that is available for the first time with a choice of petrol and diesel engines, the acclaimed Fiesta ST, and the new Ford Mustang – now on sale across Europe for the first time in more than 50 years of production.

All-new Edge S
The upscale all-new Edge utility vehicle will later this year extend in Europe the line-up of Ford SUVs that includes the medium-sized Kuga and compact EcoSport. Refined and spacious, the Edge SUV will offer several advanced new technologies.

These include Ford Adaptive Steering, which optimises the steering response and makes Edge easier to manoeuvre by continually changing the steering ratio according to vehicle speed; Active Noise Cancellation, which directs sound waves through the audio system to enhance the overall engine sound and cabin ambiance; and Front Split View Camera, which makes restricted visibility junctions or parking spaces easier to negotiate.

The sporty Edge S is a modern vehicle for people who want to look good, and have fun, behind the wheel, offering features designed to set it apart on the road and define the model as a performance-inspired utility vehicle with attitude, including:

  • High-gloss black grille and window pillars
  • Colour-coded bumpers, exterior door-cladding, door mirrors and door handles
  • Sports-inspired skid plate and rear diffuser element
  • Distinctive twin rectangular exhausts
  • 20-inch alloy wheels finished in Dark Tarnish
  • Ebony interior door trims, and sports seats with carbon-effect inserts
  • Switch gear surrounds in high-gloss piano black finish
  • Satin silver metal detailing for interior door handles, air-vent surrounds and dashboard

Kuga Titanium S
Ford’s highest specification SUV in Europe, the Kuga Titanium S, delivers a sportier and more aggressive look front and rear with colour-coded wheel arches and rear spoiler, and a contrasting silver skid plate and rear diffuser. The upscale exterior also benefits from silver roof rails, privacy glass, and 19-inch alloy wheels.

Comfort and convenience are enhanced with a Sony branded DAB audio system featuring satellite navigation, Rear View Camera, and Active Park Assist for semi-automated parallel parking.

Kuga is offered across the entire range with advanced technologies as standard that help reduce fuel consumption and lower emissions, including Auto-Start-Stop and Active Grille Shutter. Ford’s voice-activated connectivity system SYNC with AppLink allows drivers to control apps including Spotify, ADAC, Audioteka, AUPEO!, DIE WELT and Radioplayer while on the move, keeping their eyes on the road and their hands on the wheel.

Mondeo Titanium X
The new Mondeo Titanium X model will offer customers in selected markets enhanced style and comfort.

Building on the high-specification Titanium trim level that already features, Ford’s Dynamic LED headlamps, rain-sensing windscreen wipers, Traffic Sign Recognition and Lane Keeping Aid, the new Mondeo Titanium X also will be offered with:

  • Body styling kit, rear spoiler and 19-inch alloy wheels
  • 10-way adjustable heated and ventilated leather seats
  • Heated steering wheel
  • Aluminium pedals
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • Sony DAB audio system
  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Active Park Assist

The all-new Ford Mondeo is available in four-door and five-door bodystyles, and as a wagon – developed specifically for Europe. The all-new Mondeo offers optimised refinement, craftsmanship and advanced technologies including Ford’s Inflatable Rear Seatbelts and Multi-Contour Seats with Active Motion massage function.

All-new Mondeo also debuts Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection technology, that could help reduce the severity of accidents or help drivers avoid them altogether, and features the model’s widest ever range of powertrains including the first Mondeo petrol-electric hybrid and new bi-turbo 210 PS TDCi diesel engine.

S-MAX S
The all-new Ford S‑MAX is a stylish and innovative reinvention of the trend-setting seven-seat sports activity vehicle, offering driving pleasure and advanced features without sacrificing space, flexibility and fuel efficiency.

S-MAX goes on sale later this year and will debut Glare-Free Highbeam, which detects vehicles ahead, both on-coming and travelling in the same direction, and fades out light that could dazzle other drivers while retaining maximum illumination for other areas. Also offered is Intelligent All-Wheel Drive and a range of sophisticated powertrains – including a new 1.5-litre EcoBoost petrol engine for fuel efficiency and an enhanced driving experience.

Revealed for the first time at Geneva, the new S-MAX S also offers for selected markets:

  • New styling kit and rear spoiler
  • 18-inch five spoke alloy wheels
  • Sports suspension
  • Bi-xenon headlights
  • Miko Suede and Napoli leather seats with red stitching
  • Panoramic glass roof with power sunblind

EcoSport S
The Ford EcoSport offers all the practicality and affordability of a small car in a spacious and flexible SUV package.

Making its debut at Geneva, the EcoSport S delivers an insight into the upgrades and equipment that will be available to order towards the end of this year.

The new model will stand out on the road with a distinctive Deep Impact Blue exterior – a colour not available elsewhere in the EcoSport range – that is complemented by black roof, mirror caps and the unique 17-inch alloy wheels. Additional exterior upgrades also will include a sporty rear diffuser element and privacy glass. EcoSport S also enhances comfort and convenience with a Winter Pack, featuring a heated windscreen, mirrors and front seats.

EcoSport models across the range will be available later this year with or without the distinctive rear swing-gate mounted spare wheel, which to date has been standard equipment. The rear swing-gate also has been revised to allow for easier partial opening where space is limited, and now features an EcoSport badge.

EcoSport also will offer enhanced driving dynamics. The chassis has been optimised with revised spring and damper rates, and a 10 mm reduction in ride height. EcoSport’s Electronic Stability Control and power steering systems will be specifically tuned for European roads. Inside, the handbrake lever positioning has been optimised for accessibility on both left-hand drive and right-hand drive models. A Winter Pack and privacy glass also will be available.

Noise, vibration and harshness levels also have been reduced thanks to thicker sound deadening materials in the doors and dashboard as well as tighter seals around the pedals. The interior benefits from subtle, stylish upgrades, including a restyled instrument cluster with chrome surround and a light dimming function, and chrome tips on the window switches.

Focus Red and Black Editions
Ford’s new Focus Red Edition and Focus Black Edition models offer a choice of striking two-tone paint schemes and a styling kit with sports bumpers, side skirts and rear spoiler, as well as 17-inch or 18-inch alloy wheels.

Painted either Race Red with black roof or Panther Black with red roof, both models feature contrasting colours for the mirrors, and the Black Edition also features contrasting front bumper detail and grille surround. The contrasting theme is carried through the interior with a black painted centre stack; black leather sports steering wheel and gear lever gaiter with red stitching; black leather handbrake lever and gaiter with red stitching; black floor mats with red stitching; and Charcoal black sport seats with contrasting red stitching.

The new Focus models follow hot on the heels of the Fiesta Red Edition and Fiesta Black Edition that are available to buy now and share the same stunning two-tone looks. The Fiesta Red and Black Editions also feature a punchy, 140 PS version of the acclaimed 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine plus stiffer suspension, revised gear ratios and specially tuned steering.

“Ford’s innovation through performance philosophy is perfectly demonstrated by our three-time International Engine of the Year award-winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine – the most powerful 1.0-litre production car engine in the world. EcoBoost is fast becoming a byword for technical innovation and is now available across the vast majority of our vehicles in Europe.” Farley said.
