Team Fordzilla Goes Live for Virtual Gamescom with Mustang Mach-E GT Giveaway

Team Fordzilla will be entertaining gaming fans with a fun-packed live show at gamescom 2021

Ford and its Team Fordzilla e-sports team is returning to gamescom for the fifth consecutive year with a live show at the virtual event.

Based on its monthly TFZ:TV live streaming show on Twitch, the Team Fordzilla event will be broadcast from Ford’s Cologne site just a few miles away from gamescom’s usual location. With the host joined by Team Fordzilla captains from France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK, the focus will be on entertainment and interactivity.

Viewers will be given the chance to win a new Mustang Mach-E GT1– with the winner announced by the end of the hour – they will get a closer look at the ‘Vanzilla’ gaming van designed for inclusive gaming and be first to find out about the 2021 Fordzilla Cup.

Team Fordzilla will also announce season two of Team Fordzilla’s Project P1, following the successful 2019 project that saw gamers and an auto manufacturer work together for the first time to develop a virtual racer. That virtual racer was turned into a full-scale model and will be on the show with some exclusive gaming modifications.

Live music from DJ and producer duo OBS, surprise stunts and some head-to-head live gaming complete what should be an unmissable line-up of fun.

The gamescom 2021 event starts on Wednesday 25th August and finishes on Friday 27th August. You can catch the Team Fordzilla event on Wednesday 25th August at 22:00 CET by visiting twitch.tv/teamfordzilla, it will also be livestreamed on Twitter.com/teamfordzilla.

Team Fordzilla

Team Fordzilla launched at gamescom in 2019 going on to find teams of drivers in France, Germany, Italy, Spain and UK, with a team captain selected for each. As well as competing in regional and European sim-racing championships, Team Fordzilla also hosted its first Fordzilla Cup competition in 2020.

Project P1 Concept

Revealed at gamescom 2020 was the original Team Fordzilla P1 race car, which was the first virtual racer to be designed in collaboration with gamers and an automaker’s designers. If that wasn’t unique enough, the team revealed a full-scale, real-world model of the vehicle just three months later. The new Project P1 Season 2 Concept announcement will aim to top all of that.

Vanzilla – Team Fordzilla Gaming Transit

Team Fordzilla has created a unique Ford Transit, nicknamed ‘Vanzilla’, equipped with accessibility features and the latest high-tech gaming technology. It has already been visiting charities, care providers and alternative provision schools that support children and is continuing to do so throughout Europe.

Vanzilla is part of Team Fordzilla’s on-going mission to make gaming as inclusive as possible, where laughs are as important as high scores. It will play a key role in the show and in the announcement of the 2021 Fordzilla Cup.
