Christian Weingärtner and Christoph Herr take on new leadership roles at Ford

  • Dr. Christian Weingärtner, Managing Director Ford Germany, Austria and Switzerland, is now responsible for Ford's business transformation in Europe
  • Weingärtner's successor will be Christoph Herr, previously Director of the Ford Service Organisation (FCSD) for Germany, Austria and Switzerland

COLOGNE, January 13, 2025 – Dr. Christian Weingärtner (42) is appointed Vice President Europe Business Transformation, where he will be responsible for the transformation of the Ford Business in Europe across all business lines. In his new role, Weingärtner will report directly to John Lawler, Vice Chair and Chief Financial Officer of Ford Motor Company.

Weingärtner has been with Ford since 2020. Prior to his position as Managing Director and Managing Director Marketing and Sales for Ford Germany, Austria and Switzerland, he gained extensive experience in developing Ford's business in Europe as Director, Strategy, Autonomous Vehicles & Mobility.

The new Managing Director of Ford Germany, Austria and Switzerland will be Christoph Herr (47), who was previously responsible for the service and parts business for Ford in the entire DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) as Director of the Ford Service Organisation (FCSD). Prior to joining Ford, Herr, among other things, headed the Digital Solutions division at MAN Truck & Bus and the associated digitalization of core processes in sales and aftersales, as well as the further development of digital fleet management solutions.
