Ford Appoints Christian Weingartner to General Manager, Leading Passenger Vehicles in Europe

COLOGNE, Germany, Jan. 22, 2026 – Ford has appointed Christian Weingaertner to the newly created role of General Manager, Passenger Vehicles, Ford Europe, effective February 1.

The latest appointment by Ford in Europe follows an announcement in December reinforcing its commitment to the region and strategy to revitalise its passenger vehicle business in Europe.

In his new role, Weingaertner will oversee the strategic direction and operational execution of Ford’s passenger vehicle business in Europe, including the introduction of a new generation of multi-energy affordable vehicles. He will also lead the strategy team and a newly created partnership team for Ford in Europe.

He most recently served as Vice President, Business Transformation, in Europe, where he was a key architect of the European future strategy and key partnership projects.

“As we enter this next chapter, we are leveraging strategic partnerships to deliver more affordable and iconic Ford products for our European customers,” said Jim Baumbick, President, Ford Europe. “Christian’s deep strategic expertise and operational experience make him the right leader to ensure our future passenger vehicles remain unmistakably Ford, while delivering our commercial ambitions.”

This new structure is designed to work in tandem with Ford’s successful commercial vehicle business. Hans Schep will continue in his role as General Manager, Ford Pro, Europe, maintaining Ford’s leadership in the commercial sector – a pillar of its European profitability.

Jon Williams, VP Sales, Europe, will continue to lead the European Sales Network and Central Sales Operations.
