BRENTWOOD, Essex, UK, February 24, 2015 – One of the UK’s fastest growing commercial vehicle rental companies has just taken delivery of 330 new Ford Transit models to reflect the van of choice among customers, which take its Ford orders to more than 1,000 over the past year. The Transits join a fleet of 8,500 vehicles on the books of T.O.M. Vehicle Rental, servicing clients from sites in Manchester, Nottingham and across Scotland.
T.O.M, which was established in 1991, has seen remarkable growth in recent years. “In 2010 we had a fleet of 1,500 vehicles and one site,” said group sales and operations director, James Rafferty. “Fast-forward to today and we have 8,500 vehicles across seven sites.”
Around 35 per cent of T.O.M.’s fleet is Ford-badged. “We adapt to what our rental customers want,” adds Rafferty. “We find out what they are planning to do with a vehicle to ensure we provide them with the right one.
“Ford has a great range, from small vans to large, so there is something for everyone, and our customers like them. Ford is a manufacturer which stands by its products, which gives us peace of mind, with ease of maintenance a key strength of the Transit range.”
Nick Halliday, of Ford Rental and Direct Sales, said: “It has been a real pleasure to see T.O.M.’s rapid expansion in the past few years, and it is a privilege to supply the company with the vehicles that its customers are obviously so keen to rent.”
In another deal, conservatory manufacturer and installer Mozolowski & Murray has taken delivery of 10 Ford Transits. Phil Marsh, dealer development manager, Ford Lease said: “Having operated Transits for some time, Mozolowski & Murray were looking for vehicles to reflect their image and provide a reliable service, with modern technology to assist their drivers in doing their jobs. After looking at all the alternatives they found just what they were looking for in the shape of the new Ford Transit.”
