TRANSIT CENTRES AND TRANSIT24 ACCELERATE FORD’S CV SALES

BRENTWOOD, Essex, UK, April 14, 2015 – Ford has now opened 105 specialist Transit Centres nationwide with a comprehensive service promise – Transit24 – to ensure an elite aftersales service to match Ford’s award-winning CV range.

With extended opening hours, easy to book while-you-wait servicing and priority treatment for urgent repairs in the Transit Centre workshops, Transit24 is designed to ensure minimum disruption while vehicles are off the road.

The new Transit Centres offer a cutting-edge environment in which Ford can showcase its new generation of commercial vehicles, ranging from Fiesta van, Ranger and the full Transit range. All Transit Centres are RAC certified and open from 07.30 to 18.30 every weekday as a minimum and also on Saturday mornings. Late-night servicing on Thursdays permits customers to drop off a van by 16.00 and collect it on Friday at 10.00.

Servicing can be booked online, and there is the option of vehicle collection and delivery, alternative transport to keep clients on the move and for while-you-wait service, free wi-fi is provided in the waiting areas.

“Ford Transit Centres are dedicated to the business customer and are staffed by industry professionals with extensive product, servicing and financial expertise to help you keep your business on the road,” said Terry Rayner, director, Transit Centres, Ford of Britain. “Furthermore, Ford has the largest network of dedicated commercial vehicle dealers in the country, so a Transit Centre is never far away; no-one else can offer the same levels of support.”

Transit Centres also take advantage of Ford’s unrivalled parts availability – any genuine Ford parts not already in stock will be delivered to the dealer by 09.00 next day, or noon for the more remote regions of the country. All Transit Centres are independently audited by RAC Inspection Services to ensure quality and consistency of customer care; more than 800 vehicle audits were carried out in the first three months of this year, nearly twice as many as in the same period in 2014. Ford is the only CV manufacturer to employ an independent aftersales quality monitoring service.

Ford also offers a maximum recommended pricing plan for fleets with more than 25 vehicles, ensuring the best price for routine servicing and fixed jobs.

Ford’s CV sales to small business and private users were up by 47 per cent in the first quarter of 2015, with Transit Courier, the newest arrival on the Transit product line-up, enjoying a record sales month in March to consolidate its top retail slot for the year to date. A third of all the small retail vans sold in the UK between January and March were Transit Couriers.
