FORD EXTENDS THE REACH OF MOTORCRAFT SERVICE OFFERS

BRENTWOOD, Essex, UK, May 11, 2015 – Ford has signed up to WhoCanFixMyCar.com – a parts and servicing price comparison site designed to highlight the best choices for vehicle maintenance and repair work.

Participating dealers from Ford’s network of more than 500 sites across the UK will make the prices of Ford’s Motorcraft 4+ vehicle parts and servicing options available online, and it is the first time a manufacturer has registered with the digital-first service on a network-wide scale.

Ford Motorcraft 4+ was launched in 2013 and is designed to strengthen and maintain the existing relationships between Ford dealers and their customers, especially those with Ford cars and commercial vehicles aged four years and older.

Motorcraft 4+ provides a variety of service options - £125 (RRP) for a minor service, and £195 (RRP) for a major service – as well as an MOT price of £35 (RRP), reducing to £30 (RRP) when combined with a Motorcraft Service. These prices include all required parts, labour carried out by Ford-trained technicians and VAT. The package also provides complimentary Roadside Assistance, vehicle washing and collection and delivery.

According to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), the average age of a vehicle on UK roads has increased to 7.7 years old, up from 6.8 in 2008. The average age of vehicles serviced through the Ford Motorcraft 4+ programme is approximately 7.3 years.

Jon Wellsman, Director, Ford Customer Service Division, said: “Vehicle owners across the UK are turning to comparison sites to find the best possible options and prices for servicing their vehicle, just as they do to insure a vehicle. Our Motorcraft 4+ programme is designed to make the cost of motoring more transparent and more affordable, and we’re confident that WhoCanFixMyCar.com will demonstrate this.”

More than 6,000 individual sites across the UK have signed up to WhoCanFixMyCar.com, which logs online customer reviews on individual profile pages. WhoCanFixMyCar.com saw almost 9,000 service and repairs leads in April 2015 alone.

Ford has also introduced a new service app for Apple and Android smartphones, designed to help Ford owners on their travels, including locating the nearest Ford dealer and connect to Ford’s Online Service Booking option.
