COLOGNE, Germany, Dec. 17, 2015 – Ford is introducing stylish and sporty new Focus Red Edition and Focus Black Edition models, offering dynamic colour-contrasting designs for the Focus 5-door and wagon.

The Focus Red Edition features a Race Red exterior and contrasting Panther Black roof, black mirror caps and black grille surround. The Focus Black Edition reverses the combination with a Panther Black exterior, Race Red roof, red mirror caps and red grille surround.

Both models feature unique Panther Black 18-inch alloy wheels, a black grille in place of standard chrome execution, and a Race Red diffuser element beneath the rear bumper. Interiors are enhanced with Race Red stitching for the driver and front passenger sports seats, leather steering wheel, floor mats, gear shift gaiter and handbrake handle; and stainless steel sports pedals.

“Bold and expressive colour-contrasting designs used to be the reserve of extroverts but now they're part of a much wider trend that includes not just cars, but clothing and even electronic products," said John Mcleod, chief designer, Vehicle Personalisation, Ford of Europe, “Red and black are traditionally sporty colours so the two together make a very sporty combination, ideal for thrill seekers. This car isn’t for the average person.”

The Focus Red Edition and Black Edition also deliver a sportier driving experience with standard sport suspension featuring front and rear springs stiffened approximately 10 per cent, tuned shocked absorbers for enhanced body control, and a front anti-roll bar optimised for front‑end grip and turn-in performance.

Petrol engine options include Ford’s multi-award-winning 125 PS 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine delivering from 108 g/km CO2 and 4.7 l/100 km (60.1 mpg) fuel efficiency, and the 150 PS and 182 PS 1.5-litre EcoBoost delivering from 127 g/km CO2 and 5.5 l/100 km (51.4 mpg).* Diesel engine options include Ford’s 120 PS 1.5-litre TDCi delivering from 98 g/km CO2 and 3.8 l/100 km (74.3 mpg) fuel efficiency and the 150 PS 2.0-litre TDCi delivering from 105 g/km CO2 and 4.0 l/100 km (70.6 mpg) fuel efficiency. All models feature a six-speed manual gearbox.

* The declared Fuel/Energy Consumptions, CO2 emissions and electric range are measured according to the technical requirements and specifications of the European Regulations (EC) 715/2007 and (EC) 692/2008 as last amended. Fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are specified for a vehicle variant and not for a single car. The applied standard test procedure enables comparison between different vehicle types and different manufacturers. In addition to the fuel efficiency of a car, driving behaviour as well as other non-technical factors play a role in determining a car's fuel/energy consumption, CO2 emissions and electric range. CO2 is the main greenhouse gas responsible for global warming.
