FORD OF BRITAIN PRESS OFFICE WELCOMES NEW RECUIT AND BIDS “AU REVOIR” TO A TALENTED COLLEAGUE

WARLEY, Essex, 15 March 2019 – The Ford of Britain press office welcomes a new addition to the team, while saying farewell to a long-standing member.

Poppy McKenzie Smith has joined Ford of Britain’s Communications and Public Affairs team where she will be handling corporate communications. Poppy will be leading communications on projects such as Driving Skills for Life and Ford’s ongoing work with the mental health charity, Time To Change.

Poppy joins from Bonhams auctioneers, where she managed the motoring communications across the UK and Europe, feeding her life-long passion for veteran, vintage and classic cars. As well as all things automotive, Poppy has a deep love of whisky and enjoys spending her free time helping out at her family’s distillery in Fife.

”I am delighted to be joining Ford at such a challenging and interesting time for the automotive industry. It will be fascinating to be involved with a company with such a rich, influential history and a dynamic future,” said Poppy.

At the same time, Charlotte Ward is making the move from corporate affairs manager to Ford of Europe Marketing after five years in the Ford of Britain press office.

“Poppy is a strong addition to our team, bringing a wealth of PR experience and, importantly, a real passion for all things automotive. At the same time, we’re sorry to say ‘au revoir’ to Charlotte who is an outstanding and talented colleague, and we wish her every success in her new role at Ford,” said John Gardiner, executive director, Communications and Public Affairs, Ford of Britain.

Linda Craddock (events), Len Keen (press officer, vehicle operations), Dan Alcock and Christian Brown (product press officers) continue to work in the Ford of Britain press office product team led by Oliver Rowe.
