The Ford Puma car and Ford Transit Custom van are top of the 2023 sales leader board announced today.

More than 49,500 new Ford Pumas were delivered last year to owners who had chosen the stylish small car for its looks, driving dynamics, mild hybrid powertrains and remarkable luggage capacity thanks to its unique MegaBox. The ST Line X was the favourite specification with customers along with the punchy 125PS mild-hybrid engine. New 2023 colour Vivid Ruby helped to attract further Puma customers, who have the choice of the other vibrant Fantastic Red and Desert Island Blue shades.

By the end of this year, an all-electric Ford Puma will be revealed – as one of nine electric Fords on sale in 2025.  The UK’s top-selling van for 10 consecutive years, the Ford Transit Custom goes all-electric this year with the E-Transit Custom already on sale and first customer deliveries due in the second half of the year.

Ford’s overall commercial vehicle sales success seals the 58th successive year in front for the Transit brand, winning many awards last year including the coveted International Van of the Year by the all-new Transit Custom.

The acclaimed Ford Ranger, which added the new Tremor, Wildtrak X and Platinum models to the line-up in the last 12 months, sold more than ever in 2023 with sales of 18,700. Ranger was named International Pick-up winner last year, Ford has announced the plug-in hybrid Ranger, combining electric driving with the vehicle’s work-ready versatility.

Lisa Brankin, Ford UK chair and MD, said: “I’m delighted that Puma was both the bestselling vehicle and car in the UK and Transit Custom was bestselling commercial vehicle in 2023.  This terrific achievement in 2023 is a great foundation for us to step forward into 2024 and roll out our electrification plan at pace in both the car and van markets.”
