Ford of Europe today reported its October 2017 sales results.

There was a double triumph for Ford at the Scottish Car of the Year 2017 awards, as new Ford Fiesta was crowned Best Supermini four months after going on sale, and the potent Ford Focus RS Mountune was declared Best Hot Hatch.

A robot has been created to move like a human bottom and perfectly simulate how drivers and passengers get in and out of their car seats.

The all-new Ford Fiesta hatchback and Ranger pickup have set three new eco-driving records at fuel-efficiency challenges, including two new records for Fiesta at the U.K.’s annual MPG Marathon. Powered by Ford’s 120 PS TDCi diesel engine and driven by journalist Paul Clifton and engineer Ian McKean, Fiesta won the MPG Marathon Overall Champion title by averaging 2.3 l/100 km fuel-efficiency during 570 kilometres of driving – a 12 per cent improvement on the previous record and a 34 per cent improvement on the model’s official fuel-efficiency figure.*

The new Ford Fiesta smashed records on the UK’s annual MPG Marathon proving its fuel-sipping credentials within months of going on sale.

Ford total vehicle sales exceeded 59,000, as the UK market leader recorded strong CV sales and an acceleration of retail car sales as additional all-new Fiesta models are launched.

Ford’s ongoing Transit sales success, combined with the launch of the technologically advanced all-new Fiesta, and planned introduction of new electric and hybrid powertrains is stimulating a surge in demand for technicians.
