OAKVILLE, Ont., February 2, 2016 – Ford Motor Company of Canada, Ltd. celebrated the first month of 2016 with sales increasing 14 per cent, led by record January sales of the Canadian-built Ford Edge, up 52 per cent, and Ford F-Series, Canada’s top-selling pickup for 50 consecutive years, up 13 per cent.

“Ford has been Canada’s favourite automotive brand for seven consecutive years and that momentum has carried over into 2016,” said Dianne Craig, president and CEO, Ford of Canada.  “We’re proud to build vehicles that Canadians want – vehicles that fit their various lifestyles, safely keep them connected with what matters, and truly make their lives better.”

Lincoln also had a great start to 2016, with sales increases in every vehicle line leading to Lincoln’s best January since 1990 and its fifth consecutive month of sales growth.

“Canadians continue to embrace Lincoln as the brand redefines the standards you expect from a luxury vehicle,” said Craig. “With quiet luxury and effortless power across the lineup, and the all-new Lincoln Continental coming later this year, we’re looking forward to sustaining Lincoln’s success in 2016.”
