October Highlights:
OAKVILLE, Ont., November 3, 2016 – Ford Motor Company of Canada Ltd. saw a total 19
per cent sales increase in SUV/CUV in October including a surge in Ford Expedition sales.
Ford of Canada continued to see increased consumer demand for hybrid vehicles with an increase of 130 per cent in Fusion Hybrid sales and a 35 per cent increase of Ford C-MAX. Ford Fusion also saw strength across the nameplate with a 40 per cent sales increase.
“We’re continuing to see a shift toward larger vehicles as we see increases across our SUV/CUV lineup,” said Dianne Craig, president and CEO, Ford of Canada. “We are pleased that customers appreciate the power of choice in our vehicle lineup especially with the Ford Fusion. With even more choices within the Ford Fusion family, we’re offering more to our customers from hybrid to sport performance.”
Ford of Canada is reporting sales today due to a fire Monday at Ford Motor Company World Headquarters in Dearborn, Mich. which interrupted power to one of the company’s main data centres that the company and its dealers use to report and track sales. October reporting was extended to 8 p.m. EDT Tuesday, giving Canadian dealers an opportunity to report month-end sales.
