DEARBORN, Mich., April 8, 2016 – Ford Motor Company marks its 15-season partnership with American Idol by awarding the show's last-ever winner and runner-up, Trent Harmon and La'Porsha Renae, with new 2017 Ford Fusions.
Over 14 years and 556 episodes, Ford and American Idol have created many special memories. Since the show launched in 2002, more than 1 million auditions have taken place, nearly 7 billion votes have been cast, 178 contestants have become finalists and 13 Grammy awards have been won by show alumni. And along the way, more than 50 Ford vehicles have been awarded.
Ford has shared in some of the more fun and memorable moments in American Idol history, including scavenger hunts, flash mobs, secret agent missions, hunting for ghosts, even a game of hide-and-seek.
