Perfectly Hitched: Ford F-Series Trucks to Tow 'Henry' and 'Clara' on Petite Retreats' Tiny House Cross-Country Road Trip
- Ford F-Series trucks will tow ‘Tiny Houses’ – named in honor of Henry Ford and his wife Clara – on a summer-long road trip across America; just revealed at the 2017 New York International Auto Show
- “Henry,” featuring 181 square feet and weighing more than 9,000 pounds, and “Clara,” with 252 square feet and weighing more than 12,000 pounds, will be pulled by the all-new 2017 F-150 and F-250 Super Duty respectively
- Thousand Trails presents the launch of Petite Retreats, where people can research and book a range of unique vacation rentals, including tiny houses, cozy cabins, yurts and more, putting a twist on the typical vacation
DEARBORN, Mich., April 18, 2017 – Ford F-Series trucks are the vehicles of choice to tow the latest tiny houses to join the Petite Retreats unique accommodations. Called “Henry” and “Clara” – in honor of the founder of Ford Motor Company and his wife – these Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) certified houses just debuted at the 2017 New York International Auto Show.
The debut kicks off a summer-long road trip with a 2017 Ford F-150 and all-new 2017 F-250 Super Duty, set to tow Henry and Clara across America.

For even more F-Series towing innovation, class-leading features like Trailer Reverse Guidance and an exclusive 360-degree camera system with trailer view, can make hauling even a house easy. Moreover, F-150’s available class-exclusive Pro Trailer Backup Assist makes the challenge of backing up a trailer as easy as turning a knob.
Henry and Clara may be small, but they can easily exceed 9,000 pounds and 12,000 pounds, respectively. Henry features 181 square feet of space, while Clara packs it all into just 252 square feet. Sporting a number of innovative features and amenities, Henry and Clara are the latest Petite Retreats house rentals.
Henry and Clara are on display at the New York International Auto Show, April 14-23. The cross-country road trip begins the following week, stopping first in Boston and Philadelphia, with additional locations to be determined.
