Ford’s First Performance Upgrade Available on New 2024 Mustang Mach-E GT
I am thrilled to share Ford’s first Performance Upgrade offering more personalization to customers than ever before. Now, enthusiasts can enjoy the quickest Mustang Mach-E available to date via the 2024 Mustang Mach-E GT with the Mustang Mach-E GT™ Performance Upgrade.
The Performance Upgrade enables the vehicle to go 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds – faster than both the Tesla Model Y Performance and the Porsche Macan 4 Electric. The Performance Upgrade combines innovative powertrain thermal modeling and control algorithms, and our new in-house eMotor helps to deliver the improved torque – an additional 100 lb. ft. compared to vehicles without the Performance Upgrade.
Customers shared with us that they wanted improved performance capabilities, and the optional Performance Upgrade is our team delivering on that feedback. 2024 Mustang Mach-E GT customers can select the one-time Performance Upgrade at vehicle purchase or have the option to purchase the upgrade and enable it seamlessly at a later date.
Car customization is such an important part of the ownership experience because while a car is a useful thing, it can also represent an extension of your personality. Vehicles evoke stories, emotions, and memories for us all. My first car was a 1983 Mazda GLC station wagon. I loved that car as much as I love the car I drive today. It represented freedom and was very much an extension of my 18-year-old self. I personalized it with a cool stereo and sweet set of used wheels. Those bargain mods planted the seeds that help me imagine ways in which car owners could express their love for personalization beyond the hardware that we can easily, feel, and swap out manually.
Now, we are setting out on a path to create amazing digital experiences for our customers that ultimately bring joy. We are able to do this by equipping vehicles with upgrade-capable hardware, and making software upgrades available when customers want to enable it. We are seeing this personalization come to life with the Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Upgrade and via the Ford and Lincoln Digital Experience infotainment system.
Software ‘is’ the differentiator. Soon, we’ll be offering seamless, always-on delivery of software updates to enable more new apps and services, and we’ll continue to create amazing, personalized experiences. While we are initially focused on the performance domain, there are so many other domains (think entertainment) where we can offer authentic ways to personalize the vehicle experience to our customers going forward. This is just the tip of the spear for what we can unlock with digital experiences.

9moAnyway chance to get a power upgrade like the model Y dual motor on 2023 premium extended? Either as a monthly or 1 time amount. I wouldn’t mind loosing range to get more go.
Strategy - Where are we going and how do we get there?
1yGreat news! I've had the privilege to drive the Mach-E GT and it is impressive. It is a polarizing vehicle not only with the propulsion type but also the branding in which you find yourself quickly on one side or the other. I optimistically look forward to how EVs evolve over time and try to capture that emotional connection that their ICE predecessors have.
