This upgrade allows the Mach-E GT to achieve a 0 to 60 mph time of just 3.3 seconds, compared to 3.5 seconds for the Model Y Performance and 4.9 seconds for the Macan 4 EV. According to Chet Dhruna, GM of integrated services at Ford, the upgrade leverages innovative powertrain thermal modeling and control systems, along with Ford’s in-house e-Motor, delivering an additional 100 lb-ft of torque. The result is a total of 700 lb-ft of torque and 480 hp, bringing the Mach-E GT to new performance heights. When was the world's first electric vehicle made? Surprisingly, it appeared even before the Benz’s Patent-Motorwagen in 1886, which is considered the world's first gasoline engine vehicle, appeared. The world's first electric vehicle was a three-wheeled car invented by French inventor Gustave Trouvé in 1881.(See the photo below) Even more surprising is that the car that Porsche first developed was an electric vehicle, not an internal combustion engine vehicle. Electric vehicles enjoyed a boom until 1910, but naturally disappeared when Ford introduced mass production of internal combustion engine vehicles. Although the growth of electric cars has slowed down somewhat this year, the share of electric cars in the overall automobile market will exceed 20%. It took 110 years for electric vehicles to disappear and then take up a meaningful portion along with technological advancements and environmental policies. The automobile market is becoming increasingly difficult to predict as competition between electric vehicles and internal combustion engines, geopolitical issues(including supply chain issue), and Software Defined Vehicles continue to change dramatically. In such chaotic times, some of the famous legacy OEMs and new electric vehicle OEMs may disappear without a trace. It could be like when Apple's iPhone was released in 2007 and the world's #1 Nokia disappeared from the market after only 6 years.
