Assistant Chief Engineer - Ford Bronco

I’ve worked on so many vehicles in my nearly 15 years at Ford Motor Company – from the 2010 Mustang, to the 2013 Escape, to more F-150s and Super Duty variants than I can count, to the iconic Ford Bronco and currently Ford Ranger.  I’ve traveled the world on global launches, and designed systems and parts that I still get to see on the road today.   When I first started on the Bronco vehicle in 2018, I was in Stamping Engineering and two years later, I moved into the role of Product Manager for over-the-air software updates. That’s when I realized that the customer experience and relationship with their vehicles was about to change forever. Our customers aren’t getting a static vehicle anymore, they’re getting an ever-changing, ever-updating piece of equipment that they can make memories with for years and years. I worked with an amazing team to deliver some of the first ever vehicle software updates to F-150, Mustang Mach-E, and Bronco and, at that point, the entire experience of owning a Ford vehicle changed forever. We’ve launched over 70 improvements to the Bronco line aimed at enhancing the customers’ experience with their Bronco vehicle.  My favorite software update for the Bronco vehicle has been the integration with Amazon Alexa. As a smart home user, I was already integrated with Alexa for basic functions. But with this software update, I can continue to use Alexa when I’m in my vehicle! I can switch from my podcast to an audiobook, add things to my shopping list, open my Alexa-enabled garage door and turn on my Alexa-enabled lights before I pull into my driveway, all with my voice. This update is just one more way we make our vehicles an integrated part of people’s lives. #WeAreFord

"We’ve launched over 70 improvements to the Bronco line aimed at enhancing the customers’ experience with their Bronco vehicle." With the latest Bronco update, my screen defaults to the settings screen upon startup. It was nice when the last screen, like navigation, in use was saved. Improve the customer experience with giving the customer the capability to customize the preferences. Customer support said that the settings default was what was intended. I asked if their smart phone or computer defaults to settings upon start-up? OUCH... Need to talk with real users. There were a number of useful screen and app features that are no longer available. Not really improvements.

Justin Carroll - I'll literally be on the edge of my wife's 2022 Sasquatch leather seats (without the universal garage door opener) waiting to see if and when this will enable us to utilize Alexa to open our myQ garage doors (along with many other Bronco forum users). 🤞

The Bronco checks so many cool vehicle boxes. I'm still waiting for the hybrid version.- then its all green lights for me.

Thanks for posting! It's interesting to read these achievements.  (From an old, 40+years, employee who has been retired 28 years.) Always glad to hear that the old Alma Mater is still progressing!
