Chuck Gray became vice president, Vehicle Hardware Engineering, in September 2022. He reports to Kumar Galhotra, chief operating officer. He leads Ford’s global Product Development and Design, including EV Technologies, Interior and Exterior Systems, Structures and Components. His team also is leading the digital transformation of Product Development, including adopting Lean PD operating principles.
Gray is a 30+-year veteran of Ford whose past roles have involved all aspects of vehicle design and development – including Embedded Software and Electronics, which he led from 2016-2022. He is a key driver of the Ford+ transformation plan, recognized as a leader who can see the need and urgency for the company’s transformation and knows how to guide the new to Ford leaders to modernize the legacy parts of Ford.
He is a Kettering University & University of Michigan graduate and serves on the Kettering University Board of Trustees as well as the Department of Commerce Industry Advisory Council for the CHIPs Act.
