2018 Ford F-53 and F-59 Stripped Chassis

Overview

Ford offers a range of truck and motorhome chassis for fleet and commercial customers. Called stripped chassis, these incomplete vehicles consist of a Built Ford Tough ladder-frame truck chassis equipped with engine, transmission, available instrumentation, steering, brakes, alternator, wiring assemblies, fuel tank, wheels and tires. Ford Qualified Vehicle Modifiers, motorhome manufacturers and others then build finished vehicles on the chassis.

The F-59 commercial chassis is based on the Ford F-Series Super Duty truck lineup. It is used by commercial walk-in van customers for applications that include parcel delivery, bread/snack delivery, utility company operations and mobile machine shops. The F-53 motorhome chassis is designed specifically for Class A motorhomes. Each is available in a range of wheelbases and GVWRs so they can be customized for a variety of uses.

Both chassis feature the Ford 6.8-liter V10 engine that delivers 320 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque. The durable and reliable TorqShift six-speed HD automatic transmission comes with popular tow/haul mode to provide power and smoothness. Both chassis are available with an optional CNG/propane gaseous engine prep package to allow them to be converted to run on either of these gaseous fuels.
