Ford Focus Electric has been the greenest choice of Ford customers since 2011 – an affordable, fun-to-drive car for families looking to make the change to an all-electric lifestyle. For 2017, Focus Electric brings improved EPA-estimated driving range of 115 miles – up from 76 miles on the 2016 model*.
Ford’s longest-range battery electric vehicle now comes standard with all-new DC fast charge, which can deliver 75 miles of range in 30 minutes when using a charger capable of 150 amps**. The car’s battery has 33.5 kilowatt-hours of installed energy – an increase of more than 40 percent compared to 2016, with no increase in the size of the battery.
Ford worked to provide an industry-standard five-point plug that is not only durable and comfortable to hold, but is pleasing to the eye. When the connector is plugged into the charge port, owners will see a state-of-charge LED indicator. Flashing quadrants represent charge in progress, while solidly lit quadrants show charge completion.
The all-electric powertrain and single-speed automatic transmission provide responsiveness and smooth acceleration, reaching speeds of 84 mph – all while the well-appointed cabin remains quiet and comfortable. Focus Electric delivers solid handling and aerodynamic styling.
