EcoSelect is standard on all Ford hybrid models. With the center console-mounted EcoSelect button engaged, the car operates more efficiently by using less aggressive heating and cooling, softer acceleration, and increased regenerative braking for coasting. Fusion Hybrid remains in the preferred mode following each startup, and an EcoCruise graphic in the information display confirms the feature is active.
Fusion Hybrid’s 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder gasoline engine is paired with a powerful electric motor and lithium-ion battery. This powerplant provides 188 combined horsepower along with fully electric driving at speeds up to 85 mph. Regenerative braking allows the car to recapture up to 94 percent of energy for improved efficiency.
Active noise control technology, a standard feature for Fusion Hybrid, mitigates unwanted engine noise.
The car is produced at Ford’s manufacturing facility in Hermosillo, Mexico. Technical specifications for the 2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid can be found here.
