2022 Ford Bronco

2022 Updates Include More Off-Road Hardware, Sasquatch Package on Manual Transmission Bronco Two- and Four-Door

Bronco® brand, the Ford outdoor brand of Built Wild and only-4x4 vehicles, adds even more performance and personalization options to let Bronco two- and four-door customers own the vehicle that best fits their off-road lifestyle. For 2022, updates include new dealer-installed options, two new exterior color options, and more enthusiast hardware, including the new capable front-bumper option with integrated fog lights and tow hooks, and the expansion of the Sasquatch Package to manual transmission Bronco two- and four-door models.

The Sasquatch Package on manual transmission units unlocks even more off-road capability, with a 94.75:1 max crawl ratio. While other brands save their best hardware for premium series models, Bronco is extending its high-capability Sasquatch Package for 2022 to its segment-exclusive seven-speed manual-transmission Bronco two-door base, Big Bend, Black Diamond and Badlands series. The Sasquatch Package on Bronco four-door models is available on Big Bend, Black Diamond and Badlands series.

Checking the Sasquatch box adds class-first 35-inch Goodyear® mud-terrain tires mounted to 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels, Dana front and rear electronic locking axles with 4.7:1 final drive ratio, and high-clearance suspension with a nearly two-inch wider track, wider fender flares. The package also adds HOSS-tuned, long-travel Bilstein® position-sensitive dampers with end-stop control valves with increased ride height to help improve ground clearance.

New exterior options, including a Capable Front Bumper. This new powder-coated steel bumper with built-in recovery points and integrated fog lamps will be standard on Black Diamond and Badlands.

Also new for 2022 are dealer-installed options that include available tube doors, available on all models, and a late-availability Slide-Out Tailgate Table, available on base, Big Bend, Black Diamond, Outer Banks and Wild Trak series.

Two new exterior colors are Eruption Green Metallic and the extra-cost Hot Pepper Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat.

Bronco: built for the trails
Advanced four-wheel-drive technologies and chassis architecture are the core of the Bronco SUV off-road capabilities, and at the heart of it all is the Bronco brand-exclusive Terrain Management System with G.O.A.T. Modes (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain). Up to seven driver-selectable modes are offered including Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery and Sand, with Baja, Mud/Ruts and Rock Crawl for off-road driving.

Two 4x4 systems are offered – a base two-speed electronic shift-on-the-fly transfer case, and an optional advanced system that features a two-speed electromechanical transfer case with an auto mode for on-demand engagement to select between 2H and 4H.

Available Trail Toolbox gives Bronco owners various off-road technologies to elevate their off-road experience. This includes available Trail Control, cruise control for low-speed trail driving, then adds class-exclusive* available Trail Turn Assist to tighten off-road turning radiuses through torque vectoring, plus innovative available Trail One-Pedal Drive†† acceleration/braking control for more precise and confident slow-mode rock crawling.

Every Bronco comes with a High-Performance Off-Road Stability Suspension (HOSS) System for optimum stability and control for thrilling off-roading at speed. Up front is the HOSS independent front suspension with twin alloy A-arms and long-travel coil-over springs brings improved confidence and comfort. A rugged solid axle design at the rear features variable rate long-travel coil springs with five locating links to deliver both strength and off-road control.

In higher-capability configurations, with either the Sasquatch off-road package, which is available on all Bronco models and standard on Badlands series, long-travel position-sensitive Bilstein® dampers with end-stop control valves are featured to help improve off-road durability and reduce harshness.

Class-exclusive* 35-inch off-road tires direct from the factory are available on every Bronco SUV series, while available beadlock-capable wheels allow customers to elevate off-road capability, regardless of price point.

Race-bred EcoBoost® engines plus class-exclusive* 7-speed manual and available 10-speed automatic transmissions give the all-new Bronco the optimal combination of power, torque and gear ranges to perform in a wide variety of terrains and uses. The standard 2.3-liter EcoBoost I-4 engine delivers 275 horsepower and 315 lb.-ft. torque the most four-cylinder gasoline torque in its class* **, while the available 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine produces 315 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft. torque, the most gasoline-powered six-cylinder horsepower and torque in its class* **.

With premium gasoline, the 2.3-liter I-4 engine achieves 300 horsepower and 325 lb.-ft. torque and the 2.7-liter also makes gains with premium fuel, producing 330 horsepower and 415 lb.-ft. torque.

Every Bronco comes with class-exclusive* frameless doors that make them easier to remove than what competitors offer. On four-door Bronco models, all four doors can be stored onboard with available protective door bags. Class-exclusive* cowl-mounted mirrors maintain sideview visibility when the doors are removed. Trail sights on the front fenders also serve as tie-downs, reminiscent of the first-generation Bronco, and have a 150-pound capacity for securing longer items like canoes.
