New Ford Drive Subscription Service Helps Businesses Transition to Electric

Ford is now offering business owners the chance to subscribe to Ford E-Transit vehicles on a monthly subscription basis through its new Ford Drive venture. The flexible solution not only allows businesses to add to their fleets as they need to, it can also give those looking to transition to electric commercial vehicles a way to test the real-world suitability without the costly commitment of buying.

Customers throughout the UK can apply directly to Ford Drive for a vehicle with fast delivery available from centrally held stock. Included in the transparent subscription price is a full service, maintenance and repair plan which includes all components, tyres and breakdowns, as well as access to other Ford Pro perks such as mobile servicing.

The monthly subscription can be carried over indefinitely, with a minimum term of just one month. Should customers need to cancel their subscription a notice period of only two weeks is required. This makes Ford Drive perfect for businesses needing a stop-gap vehicle, customers who are cautious about buying an electric vehicle or those who want flexibility in their fleet size. Additionally, the included services, flexibility and zero deposit makes it a preferable option to purchasing for many companies who want to avoid using capital and who need to manage financial risk in their business.

Ford Drive has achieved steady growth since its launch in mid-2023 and has seen companies with varying requirements realise the benefits of the subscription model. Many have continued to roll over their subscriptions repeatedly as they recognise the value of flexibility in their vehicle fleet. The service has proved especially popular for customers wanting to add the E-Transit to their fleet and experience for the first time how their business might need to work differently with electric vehicles.

Ford Drive is now open to all business customers at https://www.forddrive.co.uk/.

Quotes

“For many businesses there are a unique mix of challenges that need to be resolved before they can be confident that an EV is a good investment for their business. Ford Drive gives a simple way for them to effectively try before they buy. At the same point, the flexibility and services included in our subscription model also make for a compelling longer-term proposition as some customers are already finding out.”

Richard Balch, director, Ford Drive UK

“Leasing the vans really works for us because they’re a short-term solution, on a trial basis, and they have worked. So we now have that buffer that we’re able to use electric vehicles, see if they work and then roll them out across the country.”

Matt Hughes, Hoxton depot manager, Zedify

“We’re looking at leasing over buying because we would financially not be able to buy all these vehicles, especially as electric vehicles are so much more expensive than diesels. We decided to go with Ford Drive because they were the most flexible and that’s helped us be able to electrify our fleet a lot faster… we now already have ten electric vehicles which we weren’t planning to achieve until the end of 2026.”

Louise Le Besnerais, transport manager, First Mile
