Andrew Brumley

Andrew Brumley was appointed Ford chief engineer for vehicle hardware engineering, and head of its UK product development centre on Dunton Campus, Essex, effective April 2024.  Dunton Campus leads on Transit engineering globally, developing electric and hybrid Transit vans and Tourneo people carriers.

His previous role was in China, where for two and a half years he was director of powertrain and vehicle architecture engineering.

Prior assignments include chief engineer for vehicle evaluation and verification, responsible for prototyping, verification and all test facilities in the Europe region, as well as chief engineer for engine programs in Dagenham, UK.

Since joining Ford in 1992, Brumley has held various roles in engine development. His extensive experience includes contributions to a number of gasoline and diesel engine programs, including overseeing the development of EcoBlue diesel engines and the 3-cylinder gasoline engine architecture.

Brumley earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Aston University and a Masters in Automotive Engineering from the University of Hertfordshire.
