Brian Schaaf is chief financial officer and treasurer of Ford Motor Credit Company, effective March 2018.
Schaaf is responsible for Ford Credit financial planning, analysis, accounting and capital strategy. He works closely with Ford Treasury on funding and liquidity initiatives and maintains relationships with financial analysts and rating agencies. He has broad finance, treasury, auditing, international and leadership experience.
Prior to this role, Schaaf was controller of Ford Global Purchasing. Previously, he was Ford assistant treasurer where he was responsible for corporate financial strategy and had global oversight for affiliate treasury functions, risk management and treasury operations.
Schaaf also served as Ford general auditor and corporate business development director. In addition, he held key positions, such as finance director, controller, and various financial analysis and business strategy roles, in Ford automotive operations, including in the UK. Schaaf joined Ford in 1988, after working as a mechanical engineer.
Schaaf has a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Marquette University in Wisconsin and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Michigan.
