Ellen R. Marram was elected to the Ford Motor Company board of directors in 1988. She serves as its presiding independent director. She also serves on the compensation committee, nominating and governance committee and sustainability and innovation committee.
Marram is president of Barnegat Group, a business advisory firm. From 2000 through 2005, she was managing director of North Castle Partners, a private equity firm. Prior to that, from 1997 to 1998, she was president and chief executive officer of The Tropicana Beverage Group, having served as the group’s president from 1993 to 1997.
Marram was senior vice president of Nabisco Foods Group and president and chief executive officer of Nabisco Biscuit Company from 1988 to 1993. From 1987 to 1988, she was president of Nabisco Grocery Division.
Marram received a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Wellesley College and an MBA from Harvard University. She is a trustee of Wellesley College.
She also serves as a director at The New York Times Company and Eli Lilly and Company.
