Jeffery Nemeth was appointed president and CEO of Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (FMCSA), effective January 1, 2010. He was previously president of Ford Lio Ho (Taiwan).
In his role, Nemeth oversees Ford’s entire business operations in South Africa with responsibility for growing the Ford and Mazda brands. He is also responsible for directing day-to-day operations of Ford’s manufacturing sites in Port Elizabeth and Pretoria, as well as working with key partners in government, media, suppliers and the union.
Nemeth has served as president of Ford Lio Ho since February 2007, overseeing Ford’s entire business operation in the country with responsibility for growing the Ford and Mazda brands, while directing day-to-day operations of Ford’s Taiwan manufacturing facility.
Prior to his appointment to Taiwan, Nemeth was General Manager of the Corporate Strategy Division, Mazda Japan.
Nemeth joined Ford Customer Service Division as Customer Parts Operations Analyst in July 1995. He was promoted to Global Profit Reporting Supervisor in one year. In July 1997, he transferred to Ford Credit as Assistant Controller. In August 1999, he moved to Taiwan and took the position of Finance Director, Ford Lio Ho (FLH).
Nemeth spent three years in Taiwan helping FLH restructure and build the Ford brand through the market downturn period of 1999 to 2001.
In July 2002, Nemeth moved back to Dearborn, USA as Family Vehicles Controller in Product Development – Finance. In March 2004, he moved to Mazda on foreign assignment in Japan as General Manager of Corporate Strategy.
Nemeth was born in 1960 in the USA. He holds a BBA and MBA from the University of Notre Dame, Indiana, USA. He is married and has three children.
