Michael S. Sheridan was appointed vice president for International Governmental Relations for Ford Motor Company, effective Sept. 1, 2018. In this Washington-based role, Mr. Sheridan oversees Ford’s relationships with governments around the globe, as well as the company’s trade strategy and political risk assessment.
Previously, he served as director of Global Trade Strategy and Policy leading Ford's global trade strategy as well as Government Relations teams in Canada, Mexico and South America.
Before joining Ford’s Washington office in 2006, Sheridan worked in several positions at Ford of Canada, including assignments in Finance and Government Relations. He also headed up Ford of Canada's Office of Economic Studies and was a key member developing and implementing Ford of Canada's Revitalization Strategy in 2002 for both Manufacturing and Operations as well its marketplace activities.
Sheridan joined Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited in 1987 after receiving a Bachelor of Commerce degree from St. Michael’s College and an M.B.A. from the University of Toronto.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors of both the National Foreign Trade Council and the American Automotive Policy Council.
Originally from Toronto, Canada, Sheridan is married to Dr. Elizabeth Sheridan and they have two children, Kathryn and Michael.
